Project Name: SPOTA – Teen Mental Health Literacy Alliance.
Project Description: A school, sports club, workplace and community collaboration for improving teen mental health literacy.

Target Mental Health Issue: Depression and anxiety.

Project rationale: Improving mental health, building resilience and early intervention and prevention strategies that deliver timely and appropriate levels of support and promote help-seeking have far reaching personal, social and economic benefits for all communities across our nation.

Project concept: SPOTA aims to improve teen mental health literacy through the development of a 3-level collective impact, place based  approach that simultaneously implements several mutually reinforced activities as part of a Public awareness, Community education and Frontline gatekeeper campaign.

Central to the campaign is the SPOTA card which is a wallet sized information card that is distributed throughout the community activities and events. The SPOTA card expands the SPOTA acronym: Social Isolation, Physical health, Obvious changes, Tough times and Assistance to get help.

What is a SPOTATHON?
A SPOTATHON is an activity or event to raise awareness and funds for the SPOTA project that improves mental health literacy and helps deliver Youth and teen Mental Health First Aid training.

TEAM – SPOTATHON: Band together with your mates by wearing SPOTA TAPE as an arm or wrist band around the work place, around school or on game day.
Raise funds for Youth and teen Mental Health First Aid in your community with SPOTA cards.

Use SPOTA TAPE to dress up your office, clothes, sporting equipment or find some new way to raise awareness with SPOTA TAPE.

SPOTA CARD: Wallet sized information to help Spot the early signs and assist people to get help.

SPOTA TAPE: Our red spotted white adhesive tape that helps activities and events to raise awareness of the SPOTA project.
